Dream Vision

People's Artist of Russia Nikas Safronov presented guests and participants of SPIEF 2026 with works created in his signature Dream Vision style. The master's exhibition became a reminder that even at a forum where people usually speak the language of numbers and contracts, there is still room for beauty, inspiration, and living emotion.

After many years of experimenting with styles and genres, Nikas Safronov developed his own distinctive artistic language and created an original direction that he named Dream Vision. It is based on a combination of classical painting and symbolism, while the artist uses special paint-layering techniques, joining rich textured painting with delicate translucent glazing layers.

As Nikas Safronov himself has explained, the uniqueness of this direction lies in conveying a special borderline state: the exact moment when colorful, slightly blurred visions appear between sleep and awakening. These fragile impressions, already partly erased and veiled in haze, are transferred by the artist onto canvas.

Visually, the Dream Vision technique may remotely recall impressionism, but it is entirely Nikas Safronov's own invention. To this day, no one has managed to precisely repeat his method.
