Nikolai Stepanovich Safronov (Nikas)

People's Artist of the Russian Federation, academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, professor and dean of the Faculty of Culture and Art at Ulyanovsk State University, professor at the Kosygin Russian State University (Moscow), and today one of the most renowned and sought-after contemporary artists in Russia.

He graduated from the M. B. Grekov Rostov Art College, the V. I. Surikov Moscow State Academic Art Institute, and the K. G. Razumovsky Moscow State University of Technologies and Management with a degree in Psychology.

Nikas Safronov's artistic career began in 1978, when his first solo exhibition was organized in Panevezys. Since then, his reputation as a vivid symbolist, portraitist, and experimenter has continued to grow from exhibition to exhibition, lecture to lecture, and from one creative project to another. Nikas introduced a new direction in world art, Dream Vision, while continuing to work in realism.
