Beyond the Visible. The Worlds of Nikas Safronov

Belarus, Vitebsk

An exhibition within the International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk.

The exhibition Beyond the Visible. The Worlds of Nikas Safronov will take place from July 14 to 20, 2026, as part of the International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk.

The exposition by People's Artist of Russia Nikas Safronov brings together four thematic sections that reveal key dimensions of human experience. Together they form a journey through memory, reality, imagination, and infinity, from the heritage of the past to the horizon of the future.

The first section is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War. It includes works depicting monuments, memorials, and landmark places connected with the events of the war years. These works were created to preserve historical memory, which continues to live decades after the war ended.

The exposition then leads viewers to the second section, where familiar reality opens before them: the world that exists here and now. It presents clear, recognizable landscapes close to many people across the post-Soviet space, reminding them of a shared cultural and natural heritage.

Yet beyond familiar reality there is an inner, invisible world, and the artist invites viewers to look into it in the exhibition's third section, which presents works created in Nikas Safronov's signature Dream Vision style. Its uniqueness lies in the artist's ability to convey a special threshold state: the very moment when colorful yet slightly blurred visions arise on the border between sleep and awakening.

From the world of dreams and fantasies, Nikas Safronov then invites viewers to step into infinity. This step leads to the final section of the exhibition, dedicated to the exploration of outer space. It presents works devoted to space and the study of the Universe, as well as pieces that have traveled to the International Space Station.

Most of the works included in the exposition were previously presented at SPIEF 2026.

The exhibition will become an important cultural event and will be open to everyone. Admission is free.
