Nikas Safronov's masterclass as part of the A Lesson with a Star project

On February 24, People's Artist of Russia Nikas Safronov held a masterclass for students of the Krasnopresnenskaya Children's Art School as part of the city project A Lesson with a Star organized by the Moscow Department of Culture.

The creative meeting took place in the school's exhibition hall. Participants worked on a thematic still life in watercolor, sharpened their artistic skills, and gained a rare opportunity to engage directly with the professional experience of one of Russia's most recognized contemporary artists.

At the start of the lesson, Nikas Safronov announced that the author of the best work would receive a special prize. At the end of the masterclass, the artist carefully reviewed every painting, offered personal feedback to the students, and selected the winner — seventh-grade student Ivan Derevyanko.

The winner shared that meeting the master was an inspiring event and an important step toward a future creative profession. For the other participants, the lesson also became more than a classroom exercise — it was a direct experience of speaking with an artist whose name is widely known far beyond academic circles.

"Individuality is always essential in art, but its foundation is the classical school that is formed precisely here. This art school rightly enjoys recognition and deserves support," Nikas Safronov emphasized.

The A Lesson with a Star project gives students of art schools and creative colleges the opportunity to communicate directly with outstanding figures of culture. Since its launch, the initiative has involved more than 2,500 young talents.

The school's leadership also emphasized the importance of such meetings, noting that the tradition of interacting with renowned artists has become an essential part of the educational process. It helps students grow professionally, encounter different creative approaches, and better understand the prospects of their own path in art.
